We invite you to take time out of your daily work to pause and think about how you are doing and how your daily work experiences are impacting on you.
Our next Heart of Practice ‘touch point’ will be a two-hour virtual workshop, ‘Taking Your Time’, on Tuesday 8th February 2022 from 11am-1pm via Zoom. It is open to all frontline practitioners in healthcare, social work, social care, community and educational roles.
This safe and nourishing space will be hosted by Dr Nicola O’ Sullivan, independent social care consultant, and facilitated by Dr Andrew Cooper, Professor of Social Work at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and social worker. Teaching, researching, and promoting relationship-based and therapeutic social work has been central to his career, and many of his published works reflect this. Andrew founded the Centre for Social Work Practice which is a charity dedicated to promoting and developing relationship based social work practice.
Dr Nicola O’ Sullivan said: “In the busyness of our work, we sometimes can get overwhelmed by the daily pressures and stress, so much so that we feel we can’t take time out to check in with ourselves and think about how we are feeling.”
“This two-hour workshop provides a reflective space to pause and consider what might support us in coping with the emotional toil of the work and all of the challenges this brings. Under the pressure of work and the anxiety of everything, we often feel we can’t take any time for reflection, but actually, everything can feel more manageable if we do.”
Bookings are now open and tickets are €30 via Eventbrite
